Wilmington Eye is excited to announce the opening of Wilmington Eye Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art surgical facility that will be the only ambulatory surgery center in eastern North Carolina focused primarily on ophthalmic surgery cases. Opening in late 2021, Wilmington Eye Surgery Center will provide patients with access to high-quality surgical care, including cataract surgery, blepharoplasty and oculoplastic procedures, strabismus surgery, vision correction, and more.
Currently, Wilmington Eye performs thousands of ophthalmic procedures, such as refractive surgery, bladeless cataract surgery, and strabismus surgery for both pediatric and adult patients at various external surgical facilities throughout the region. In these external facilities, many of which are hospital-based, patients can expect to pay higher costs for any given outpatient procedure. With our new 17,000-square-foot surgery center, patients can expect to receive the same level of exceptional care and surgical precision that the practice is recognized for at a significantly lower cost to patients.
