Amanda Britt Baden, OD is originally from Wilmington, NC. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Before attending optometry school, she worked in research at Research Triangle Institute in Durham, NC. She received her doctorate of optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now named Salus University). Dr. Baden’s externships were completed at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. She also completed a residency at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN with emphasis in ocular disease. Before joining Wilmington Eye, she worked in private practices in Wake Forest and Raleigh, NC.
Dr. Baden is a current member of the American Optometric Association, as well as the North Carolina Optometric Society. She provides multi-faceted care from medical to routine examinations; including glaucoma management, diabetic eye exams, contact lens exams, post-operative care, comprehensive eye exams and emergency care.
Dr. Baden takes great pride in being very thorough in her examinations, as she truly cares about the well-being of her patients. She finds it very rewarding that she is able to work closely with her patients and follow their progress.
When not in the office, Dr. Baden spends her time with friends and family. She enjoys photography and playing with her two dogs.
